RANGPUR, Mar 1, 2026 (BSS) - The Department of Public Administration of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) today hosted a 'Ramadan Cultural Fest and Iftar Mahfil' on the campus. 

BRUR Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md Showkat Ali attended the event as the chief guest, held at the university's Independence Memorial Ground. 

Public Administration Department Chairman Muhammad Mujahidul Islam presided over the function. 

Addressing the programme, Prof. Showkat said the university has reached a remarkable height in research and the glory of excellence must be preserved with collective efforts.

He said students are the life of the university, urging them to move forward through constructive activities while not paying heed to rumours or propaganda on social media.

BRUR Central Mosque Khatib Dr. Rakib Uddin Ahmed led special prayers seeking welfare of the university as well as the country.

BRUR Acting Registrar and Proctor Prof. Dr. Md Ferdous Rahman, Public Administration Department Assistant Professors Md Niaz Makhdum and Md Saiful Islam and Lecturer Md Afzal Hossain Shakil, among others, were present at the event.
