RAJSHAHI, March 5, 2026 (BSS) -  A conference of student representatives from the Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RUCSU), hall student unions, and the Senate was held today (Thursday) at the Senate Building of Rajshahi University (RU).

The conference began at 9:30 am and was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor and President of RUCSU, Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib.

The event was organized by the Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RUCSU).

Among others who spoke at the conference were Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Mohammad Main Uddin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Md. Farid Uddin Khan, Treasurer Professor Md. Matiar Rahman and former Chief Election Commissioner of RUCSU Professor A.F.M. Nazrul Islam.

Election Commissioner Professor Nurul Momen, RUCSU Treasurer Professor Md. Setaur Rahman, Returning Officer of the RUCSU election Professor A.B.M. Hamidul Haque, hall provosts, RUCSU General Secretary Salauddin Ammar and Joint General Secretary Salman Sabbir were present.

Student representatives from Raksu, hall student unions, and the Senate shared their opinions and suggestions regarding the conduct of activities.

In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor said that holding the RUCSU election after a long 35 years, amid various limitations, was a major challenge. However, with everyone’s cooperation, the election was completed smoothly.

He added that before the election, candidates had made various promises without having adequate information about Raksu’s scope of work and financial resources.

After the election, those promises are being implemented on a priority basis, considering financial capacity and practical realities.

He expressed hope that the university students would take these realities into account.

The Vice-Chancellor further said that if RUCSU succeeds through collective cooperation, it will set a lasting example.
