RAJSHAHI, April 28, 2026 (BSS) - The Rajshahi regional roadshow of the 'National Android Development Bootcamp' was held at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) amid enthusiastic participation of students and tech enthusiasts.

The programme took place on Monday at the RUET auditorium, which turned into a vibrant gathering place for aspiring software developers, industry professionals and academics.

The daylong roadshow, organised with support from the RUET Computing Society, saw participation from students of RUET as well as the University of Rajshahi, Varendra University and other institutions in the Rajshahi region.

Organisers said the national-level bootcamp initiative is being conducted with support from Robi Axiata PLC, Miyaki Media Limited and hSenid Mobile Solutions. The aim of the programme is to develop skilled future software developers and strengthen technology-driven human resources in the country.

At the beginning of the event, Mahir Asheef, a former student of RUET's Computer Science and Engineering Department, presented the objectives, structure and details of the three-month training programme under the BDAPPS initiative.

Later, the BDAPPS team organised an interactive quiz session for participants, where winners were awarded prizes.

Speakers at the event said participation in such national-level tech initiatives will enhance students' skills, innovation capacity and professional readiness.

According to the bootcamp structure, the programme begins with roadshows and registration, followed by technical training, business training and a national gala round.

In the final stage, participants will present their developed applications before industry experts and judges.

Participants will have access to Robi-certified Android Developer Certification, opportunities to join a national developer network, monetisation support through the National App Store and national-level recognition.

The total prize money for the competition has been set at Tk 5 lakh. The champion team will receive Tk 50,000 along with special promotional benefits, while teams securing the first to fifth positions will also receive cash prizes and support.

Organisers said that alongside Rajshahi, the roadshow is also being held in Dhaka and Chattogram as part of a national initiative to build skilled manpower in the country's technology sector.

They added that the RUET roadshow will create new opportunities for students and play an important role in promoting innovation, software development and skilled human resource development in the region.
