Passenger fares for inland water transport revised

DHAKA, May 6, 2026 (BSS) - The government has revised passenger fares for inland water transport services across the country, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Shipping today.

Under the new rate, fare for the first 100 kilometres has been increased from Tk 2.77 to Tk 2.95 per kilometre per passenger. For distances above 100 kilometres, the fare has been raised from Tk 2.38 to Tk 2.52 per kilometre per passenger.

The minimum fare has also been increased from Tk 29 to Tk 32 per passenger.
