Mahbub Anam urges all to practicing Shaheed Zia’s Ideals

DHAKA, May 31, 2026 (BSS)- Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam has urged all to present the ideal of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman properly before the new generation.

The minister made the call while addressing a meeting and prayer organized by Madhupur Upazila BNP in Tangail last night marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

The minister said the country is moving ahead under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the worthy successor of Shaheed Zia. 

The government had undertaken various welfare  programmes to implement its electoral commitments and is working relentlessly to improve the people's living standard, he added.

Fakir Mahbub Anam, also in charge of the ministry of Science and Technology, urged them to refrain from the politics of terrorism, extortion and land grabbing. 

He stressed the need to ensure the safety of women and children and maintain peace, order and harmony in the society.

The minister also emphasized strengthening party unity, saying internal divisions must be avoided and no one should engage in activities that cause suffering to the people. 

He sought cooperation from all to implement the government's development activities to make the country a peaceful, beautiful and welfare-oriented state.

Madhupur Upazila BNP President Md. Zakir Hossain Sarkar presided over the meeting 

General Secretary of Pourasabha unit of BNP Khandakar Motalib Hossain, Freedom Fighter M.A. Samad, BNP Central Executive Committee Advocate Shamsuzzaman Suruj, Upazila BNP Vice-President M. Ratan Haidar and General Secretary Nasir Uddin were present, among others.

A special prayer was offered at the end of the programme seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
