RAJSHAHI, June 17, 2026 (BSS)- A training titled 'Fire Drill Exercise and 
Fire Safety Education' was held today at Rajshahi University of Engineering 
and Technology (RUET).

The important public training was conducted with the participation of RUET 
teachers, officers, staff, and students. 

RUET Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Abdur Razzak attended the event as 
the chief guest. 

The training was conducted by skilled members of the Fire Service and Civil 
Defence. 

During the session, they demonstrated what citizens should do in the event of 
a fire in any area and provided hands-on training on the use of fire safety 
equipment.
 
Representatives of the Fire Service stated that fires caused by carelessness 
at home or in the office can escalate due to lack of awareness. 

For this reason, it is essential for everyone to have knowledge of what to do 
in such situations. 

Many institutions or homes have fire safety equipment, but due to a lack of 
knowledge on how to use it, the equipment is not effective during the initial 
stages of a fire, they added.
