RAJBARI, June 17, 2026 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain today said the government would gradually introduce dialysis facilities for kidney patients at all district and upazila hospitals across the country.

“Dialysis facilities for kidney patients will be introduced in district and upazila hospitals in phases so that people in rural and remote regions can receive the service closer to their homes,” he told journalists after visiting Rajbari District Sadar Hospital this afternoon.

The minister said the government is committed to ensuring healthcare services at the doorsteps of the people.

Sakhawat said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has allocated resources in the national budget to strengthen healthcare services and expressed optimism that dialysis facilities could be established at district and upazila levels nationwide.

“We hope to expand kidney dialysis services across district and upazila hospitals so that people from remote areas can receive treatment at a lower cost,” he said.

The minister added that all necessary arrangements have already been completed in 10 hospitals as part of the initiative.

Rajbari Deputy Commissioner Afroza Parveen, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Manjur Morshed, Civil Surgeon Dr. S.M. Masud, and Rajbari District Sadar Hospital Superintendent Dr. Md. Abdul Hannan were present during the visit.
