DHAKA, June 17, 2026 (BSS) – A court here today showed three individuals, including Shahed Ahmed Majumder, son of former State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder, arrested in a case over an alleged attempt to murder madrasa student Nazim Uddin during the July 2024 Mass Uprising.

The other two accused are Awami League leaders Selim Prodhan and Abu Sayeed.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah passed the order as police produced the trio before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in the case.

According to the case documents, on July 19, 2024, during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, protesters gathered in the Banshtala area south of Bhatara Police Station in the capital. At that time, the accused allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the student-people movement, leaving madrasa student Nazim Uddin with pellet injuries to his head.

Nazim’s aunt filed the case in this connection on February 25, 2025, with Gulshan Police Station.
