CTTC detains drug paddler with 7,000 yaba in city

DHAKA, June 17, 2026 (BSS) - A team of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has 
arrested a drug peddler from the capital's Pallabi area and seized 7,000 yaba tablets.

The arrested is Md Saddam Hossain alias Saddam, a DMP release said here today.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of a special action group of CTTC conducted a raid in Pallabi Bihari Palli area at around 9 pm on June 16 and managed to 
detain Saddam. Following information given by the arrestee, the law enforcers raided the office of a courier service in the area and seized the yaba 
tablets.

According to the CTTC, Saddam is an active member of a drug paddling gang and used to bring the contraband drugs [yaba] from Cox's Bazar through different 
courier services and sell those in the Bihari Palli area.

A case was filed in this connection.
