4 more die of suspected measles

DHAKA, June 17, 2026, (BSS) - Four more people have died from suspected measles across the country in the last 24 hours, while 1,077 new cases were reported during the same period, according to a press release issued today by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS.

It said the number of suspected measles cases recorded in the last 24 hours stood at 966, bringing the total number of suspected cases reported between March 15 and June 17 to 88,895.

The release said 111 confirmed measles cases were reported during the past 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases from March 15 to June 17 reached 10,634.

During the same period, 73,277 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.

A total of 69,688 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals over the period.

Four deaths from suspected measles were reported in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths among children from suspected measles to 568 between March 15 and June 17.

No death from confirmed measles was reported during the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 93 deaths have been recorded from confirmed measles.
