DMP files 2,114 cases over violation of traffic rules

DHAKA, June 17, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 2,114 cases across the capital for violating traffic rules.

The DMP Traffic Division filed those cases on June 16 through regular drive against traffic rules breakers, according to a press release issued today. 

It said the DMP traffic police dumped 395 motor vehicles and towed 317 vehicles during the campaign. 
The DMP’s release further said these drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.

During the drive, Ramna division filed 67 cases, Lalbagh division registered 159 cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 477 cases, Wari division registered 195 cases, Tejgaon division filed 147 cases, Mirpur division filed 405 cases, Uttara division registered 451 cases and Gulshan division filed 213 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles.
