JU holds workshop on action plan to improve global university ranking

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, June 30, 2026 (BSS) – Jahangirnagar University (JU) today held a workshop titled “University Ranking: Action Plan” to formulate strategies for improving the university’s position in global rankings through institutional reforms, automation and enhanced digital information management.

JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan addressed the workshop as the chief guest at the university’s Senate Hall. The event was organised by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

Speaking at the programme, the vice-chancellor stressed the need for coordinated efforts among the Automation Cell, ICT Cell and IQAC to enhance administrative efficiency and improve the university’s position in international rankings.

JU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam also spoke at the programme.

Associate Professor Mohammad Mamun Or Rashid of the Department of Bangla and Professor Dr M Shamim Kaiser of the Institute of Information Technology presented keynote papers, while IQAC Director Professor Dr Md Sohel Rana delivered the welcome address.

Deans of different faculties, chairpersons of departments, directors of institutes, teachers and university officials attended the workshop.
