DHAKA, Aug 5, 2026 (BSS) - Former Chief Adviser to the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, today said the July Memorial Museum is not just an establishment but the beginning of a new chapter in the Bangladesh's history. 
  
"The path of a new Bangladesh will begin from here. If we lose our way, we will start from here," he said while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of July Memorial Museum in the capital this morning.
  
Prof Yunus said the July Memorial Museum will become the centre of "our history". 
 
 "If we ever lose our way in the future, the journey of a new Bangladesh will start from here again," he said. 
 
 Prof Yunus asked the youth of the country to be the writers of this memory and come forward towards creating a new Bangladesh.
  
At the end of the programme, Prof Yunus urged all present there to visit the July Memorial Museum every year.
  
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury and the Prime Minister's Adviser on Information and Cultural Affairs Dr Zahed Ur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.
 
Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated the museum. Established at Ganabhaban, it has been created to preserve the authentic history of the July Mass Uprising, document the nation's resistance against autocracy, pass that legacy on to future generations and honour the sacrifices of the martyrs and the July fighters.
