RAJSHAHI, Aug 5, 2026 (BSS) - ‘July Mass Uprising Day-2026’ was observed with due dignity at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET).
Marking the day, the university administration organized various programs throughout the day today (Wednesday), which included a rally, tree plantation, painting and essay competitions, and a special munajat (prayer).
Present at the events were RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, along with Deans of various faculties, Director of Student Welfare Professor Dr. Rabiul Islam Sarker, Acting Registrar Arif Ahmed Chowdhury, heads of departments, directors of various offices, and all officials, employees and students.
At the beginning of the day, this morning, a victory rally commemorating the ‘July-2024 Mass Uprising’ was brought out from in front of the administrative building of the university.
After circling the campus via Talaimari Mor, the rally ended again in front of the administrative building. After the rally, tree plantation was carried out on the university premises.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of the day, a painting competition was organized in Room No. 217 of the administrative building.
Along with the children of the university's teachers, officers and employees, students also participated in the competition.
In addition, an essay competition titled ‘Bangladesh after the July Mass Uprising’ has been organized for the students of the university.
The organizers said that essays for the competition can be submitted until 5 pm on August 8.
After Zuhr prayers, a special munajat was held at the university's central Jame Mosque in remembrance of those injured and martyred in the July Mass Uprising.
