JS body on Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses grief over floods in Nepal

DHAKA, Aug 26, 2026 (BSS) - The parliamentary standing committee on the Foreign Affairs Ministry has expressed its profound grief over the catastrophic flash floods and mudslides in Nepal.

"We mourn the tragic loss of life and extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased and to those still awaiting news of missing loved ones," said the JS body.

The committee fully endorses the statement of solidarity issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and stands united with the Government of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in offering humanitarian and rescue assistance.

As a nation that acutely understands the devastation of natural disasters, the parliament and the people of Bangladesh reaffirm their unwavering support for Nepal.

The committee stands ready to work with the ministry to ensure the safety of any Bangladeshi nationals in the affected areas, and to support the government's efforts to expedite all necessary bilateral aid.
