RAJSHAHI, Aug 27, 2026 (BSS) - A seminar titled 'Nanoparticle-Enhanced Fluids in Technology:

Advanced Cooling and Energy Applications' was held at Rajshahi University of Engineering and

Technology (RUET) today.

The seminar was organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Institutional

Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at the RUET seminar room.

Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Professor Dr Nurul Islam attended the seminar as

the chief guest.

Professor Dr S M Sohel Murshed of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Instituto Superior

T‚cnico (IST), University of Lisbon, Portugal, delivered the keynote speech.

In his speech, Professor Sohel Murshed highlighted how 'nanofluids' and 'ionano-colloids' -

prepared by adding nanoparticles to conventional fluids - are contributing to advances in modern

thermal and energy systems.

He discussed the progress, technological challenges and future research directions of these

fluids in cooling technologies and thermal management.

Teachers and students from various departments of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at RUET

attended the seminar.
