GAIBANDHA, April 17, 2025 (BSS) - Ex-lawmaker of Gaibandha-2 constituency Shah Sarwar Kabir was sent to jail this afternoon as he was produced before the court here.

Earlier, the former lawmaker was arrested from  a house owned by his sister Afroza Parvin Kabir in Eidga  residential area of Dinajpur town on Tuesday night in a  drive of detective branch of Dinajpur police.

As there are two cases against him on various charges including explosives law, vandalism and arson at the Gaibandha Sadar Police Station, he was arrested from the house on Tuesday night.

Then, he was handed over to Gaibandha Sadar Thana police this noon for, police said.

Accordingly, a team of police of Sadarthana produced him before the additional chief judicial magistrate court of the town here this afternoon.

Then, the court passed an order to send him to the jail  rejecting his bail prayer.
