DHAKA, Aug 24, 2025 (BSS) – The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police today arrested content creator Tawhid Afridi in a murder case filed with Jatrabari Police Station linked to the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
A special CID team arrested Afridi during a drive in Barishal today, said a press release.
Tawhid Afridi is the 11th accused in the murder case filed with Jatrabari Police Station connected to the July Uprising.
The main accused in this case is ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, while the second and third accused are former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader and former inspector general of police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun respectively.
In the same case, Tawhid Afridi’s father, Mytv Chairman Nasir Uddin Sathi, was arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on August 17 last.
