KHULNA, Sept 12, 2025 (BSS) – Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) and Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Faizul Karim here today said that the country’s people have witnessed various parties and ideologies ruling the state, now it is time to bring Islam into state governance.

“I believe that in the future, the people of this country will embrace Islam with ease,” he made the remarks while speaking at a mass rally in front of Khulna New Market this afternoon.

Organised by Khulna City Unit IAB, Sheikh Md. Nasir Uddin, Senior Vice President of Khulna City Unit IAB, presided over the event.

Speaking as the chief guest, he raised demands for holding national elections under the PR system, implementing necessary state reforms, giving legal basis to the July Charter, ensuring visible trials of criminals, murderers, and autocrats, and establishing a justice-based welfare state.

Faizul said that to build a Bangladesh free from fascism, elections must be held under the Proportional Representation (PR) system.

“We must remain vigilant so that no fascist force can raise head again, and we must stay united. This is the fundamental demand of the July Uprising,” he said.

“If elections are again held under the same failed system, the existing mess will not be cleared. In this reality, the PR system can be an effective solution. Elections must be held under the PR system,” he added.

Mujibur Rahman Shamim, parliamentary candidate for Bagerhat-1, Abu Taher, Hafez Abdul Latif, Advocate Jahangir Hossain Helal, Secretary of Khulna City Unit Jamaat-e-Islami, and Mawlana Sharif Saidur Rahman, President of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis of Khulna City Unit, among others, spoke at the rally.
