
JASHORE, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) - The President Parade (Winter) 2025, marking the commissioning of No 87 BAFA (Bangladesh Air Force Academy) Course, Direct Entry-2025B and SPSSC-2025B of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF), was held at BAF Academy here today.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan attended the ceremony as the chief guest, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release.
The Air Chief reviewed the smartly turned-out parade and took salute at the impressive march past.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief of Air Staff remembered with deep respect all the freedom fighters and war-wounded freedom fighters who made the supreme sacrifices in the Great Liberation War of 1971, whose immense sacrifices resulted in today's independent and sovereign Bangladesh.
He also respectfully remembered the members of the Kilo Flight, who led the fearless and successful air campaign that created unwavering morale in the Liberation War and conducted adventurous aerial battles, whose strong conviction paved the way for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Bangladesh.
"The scope and demand of the armed forces have expanded worldwide. Keeping this goal in mind, the training system of the Air Force has been made more modern and up-to-date," the Air Chief mentioned.
He further said state-of-the-art training aircraft and simulators have been added to ensure better training of the future generation of the Air Force.
"It is a matter of pride for all of us that the reputation of the training quality of the Bangladesh Air Force Academy has become known in the international community today. Many members of the domestic and foreign military forces are participating in training at the educational institutions of the Air Force, the Chief of Air Staff mentioned.
"The Pilots of the Bangladesh Army and Navy are successfully receiving flying training from the Air Force Academy. So far, 30 foreign flight cadets have successfully completed their training from this academy," he added.
The Chief of Air Staff wished success to the newly commissioned officers and thanked all the members of the Bangladesh Air Force Academy. He also handed over the trophies and flying badges among the graduating officers.
Officer Cadet Nafis Rafid was presented with the coveted "Sword of Honour" for the best all round performance, Officer Cadet Md Sadik Islam Tamim received "Birsreshto Matiur Rahman Trophy" for the best performance in Flying Training and Officer Cadet Jannatul Israt Saba got "Commandant's Trophy" for the best performance in General Service Training in No 87 BAFA Course.
Besides, Officer Cadet Nusrat Binta Islam Nice received "Chief of Air Staff Trophy" for the best all-round performance in No 87 BAFA Course amongst the Ground Branch Officer Cadets, the release mentioned.
Meanwhile, in this winter term, Bir Uttam Badrul Alam Squadron was adjudged the Champion Squadron and was accorded Academy Colour.
Total 40 Officer Cadets including eight Female Officer Cadets were commissioned during the parade.
Officer Cadet Academy Senior Under Officer Tanjim-Ul-Islam commanded the parade. The parade was followed by a spectacular flypast of different aircraft, wonderful aerobatic display and para jump by the skilled paratroopers of BAF, the ISPR mentioned.
Among others, members of diplomatic mission, serving and retired civil and military high officials, local dignitaries and guardians of the newly commissioned officers were present in the ceremony.
