DHAKA, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 today issued a show-cause notice to BNP leader Advocate Fazlur Rahman, asking him to explain why contempt of court proceedings should not be initiated against him.

"The tribunal ordered him to appear in person on December 8 with his academic and bar council certificates, and to submit his explanation," prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim told newsmen.

The ICT prosecution on November 26 filed a contempt of court petition against Advocate Fazlur Rahman.

Prosecution sources said the petition was filed against Fazlur for making derogatory remarks about the tribunal during a recent television programme.
