DHAKA, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - Chief coordinator of Ganosamhati Andolon Zonayed Saki today called upon the country’s people to remain united to stop attacks on the media and the ongoing anarchy across the country.
He made the call while talking to journalists after visiting the burnt offices of the daily Prothom Alo and The Daily Star this morning.
At the same time, Saki strongly demanded justice in the killing of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha.
He further stated that at a time when the entire country is seething with grief and anger over the death of Osman Hadi, media houses are being deliberately attacked to break the unity of the people.
The fallen fascist forces and their local and foreign collaborators are purposefully creating instability in the country, he said.
The Ganosamhati Andolon chief coordinator said there is no alternative to advancing on the path of democracy to truly value Osman Hadi's martyrdom.
Saki said media offices were attacked to divert public anger.
“We saw that various cultural organisations' offices were attacked. The broader unity that was created among the people through the July mass uprising is being breached; and the kind of divisive politics that Sheikh Hasina pursued, which we call 'Hasina-giri', is being re-introduced,” he said.
Taslima Akhter and Monir Uddin Pappu, members of the political council of Ganosamhati Andolon; Bachchu Bhuiyan, Dipak Kumar Roy, Munni Mridha, Rexona Parveen Sumi, Golam Mostafa, Saifullah Siddique Rumen, Mostafizur Rahman Rajib, Abu Raihan Khan, members of its central executive committee, and Group Captain (Retd) Md Khaled Hossain, a member of the central advisory council, were present, among others.
