DHAKA, Dec 25, 2025 (BSS) - The journey of Rakhi Saha, a housewife from Jessore, began with a simple and personal problem after severe hair loss following the birth of her second child. Who did know that this problem would spark a business venture that would not only change her life but also create employment to hundreds of people?
In 2020, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Rakhi was struggling with hair fall. Desperate for a solution, she turned to an age-old remedy passed down by her mother Durga Saha. This homemade treatment, made from a combination of natural ingredients like fenugreek, black cumin, neem leaves, aloe vera and coconut oil, not only solved her hair problem but also ignite a dream.
"After using the oil, my hair fall decreased and new hair started to grow. This success gave me the confidence to do something for myself," she recalled.
Encouraged by her newfound confidence, Rakhi shared her idea with her younger brother, Victor Saha, a graduate in Computer Science from the American International University in Dhaka. Victor, skilled in digital marketing, saw the potential to turn Rakhi's home remedy into a business.
Together, they founded 'Naturals by Rakhi' in 2021, with Victor taking the reins of digital marketing and branding. Rakhi began producing the oil at home, while Victor set up a Facebook page, creating a logo and promoting the product online.
Starting with just a modest capital of 1,700 Taka, the venture quickly gained traction. The first few orders were small, but gradually the number of customers grew rapidly. "In the beginning, we received only 2-4 orders a day. But soon, positive reviews started pouring in and our customer reached 40 percent," says Rakhi.
Unlike many competitors who made false promises such as hair growth in just seven days, Rakhi and Victor were determined to build their brand with honesty and transparency. "We focused on the quality of our product and were honest about the ingredients and production process," says Victor. This approach, combined with the effectiveness of their products, earned the trust of their customers.
As demand grew, the Saha siblings set up a small factory with home-based equipment, employing over 100 workers. Today, their production facility, located in the Chaulia Rupdia area of Jessore, spans 8,000 square feet and uses modern machinery to preserve the purity of their natural ingredients. The business also features its own lab and chemist, with quality control overseen by a renowned professor from Jessore University of Science and Technology.
By 2025, 'Naturals by Rakhi' had expanded its product line beyond hair oil to include shampoo, scalp serum, hair serum and even skin care products.
With more than 300,000 customers and a rapidly growing team, primarily consisting of women, the company is also making waves in the retail sector with a showroom in Dhaka's Bashundhara City Shopping Complex.
Saha siblings have already achieved ISO, BSTI and GMP certification for their products, for their commitment to quality. Looking ahead, Rakhi envisions 'Naturals by Rakhi' as an internationally recognized brand that will continue to create employment opportunities for thousands of people, especially women.
"Our dream is to establish 'Naturals by Rakhi' as a trusted brand, reaching every corner of the customers," says Rakhi.
From a simple home remedy to a thriving business, the story of 'Naturals by Rakhi' is a testament to the power of innovation, hard work and perseverance.
