Court sends Foysal’s close aide Kabir to jail in Hadi murder case

DHAKA, Dec 28, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today sent Kabir Hossain, a close aide to Foysal Karim Masud, the prime accused in the case filed over the murder of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, to jail.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam passed the order as police produced Kabir before the court after completion of his two rounds of remand and prayed to keep him behind bars till completion of the investigation.

Earlier, on December 16, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibuzzaman placed Kabir on a seven-day remand. He was again placed on a five-day remand on December 23.

On December 20, the court ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case, which was initially filed as an attempted murder, following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi on December 18.

Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent parliamentary candidate for Dhaka-8 and spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, was shot on December 12 in the capital’s Bijoynagar Box Culvert area.

According to the case statement, two assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Hadi while he was travelling in a battery-run rickshaw and then fled the scene.

Inqilab Moncho Member Secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station on December 14.
