Azhar submits nomination papers in Rangpur-2

RANGPUR, Dec 29, 2025 (BSS) -  Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer ATM Azharul Islam today submitted two nomination papers from Rangpur-2 (Badarganj-Taraganj) constituency to the Assistant Returning Officers.
 
He submitted his first nomination paper to Badarganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Most Anjuman Sultana along with local leaders and activists Monday noon. 
 
Later, he submitted nomination paper to Taraganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Md Monabbor Hossain in the afternoon.

After submitting the nomination papers, ATM Azharul Islam told reporters that the interim government must create a fair environment so that people can exercise their voting rights in the coming elections without any hindrance. 
 
"If I am elected, I will reopen the closed Shyampur Sugar Mills in Badarganj upazila and provide employment to the unemployed youth of the region and develop the agricultural economy, Insha’Allah," he said.
