DHAKA, Feb 15, 2026 (BSS) – The Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB), a professional body of diploma engineers and diploma architects in the country, today congratulated BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on the party’s landslide victory in the 13th national parliamentary elections held on February 12.
The IDEB also congratulated BNP leaders and activists, as well as the people of the country, on the achievement.
The greetings were conveyed in a joint statement signed by its Convener Engineer M Kabir Hossain and Member Secretary Engineer Quazi Shakawat Hossain.
After a long democratic movement and struggle, the statement said, the victory of the BNP under the leadership of Tarique Rahman in an election marked by massive voter participation reflects the people’s confidence and overwhelming support, echoing the party’s stance for the nation’s future.
The diploma engineers of the country believe that the victory also reflects the aspirations for progress, stability and prosperity cherished by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and uncompromising leader Begum Khaleda Zia, the statement added.
The IDEB leaders expressed hope that the newly elected government led by Tarique Rahman would fulfill the expectations of the people by strengthening democratic values and national unity, and by working to improve the fortunes of all citizens.
The IDEB also pledged to continue its efforts in line with the commitments made by the BNP in its 31-point programme and electoral manifesto, aiming to expand technical education and promote a skill-based, employment-oriented and production-driven economy through technological advancement.
In the statement, the IDEB recalled the contributions of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman in 1978 and then Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in 1994 towards improving the quality and enhancing the social dignity of diploma engineers.
