DHAKA, May 17, 2026 (BSS) - The Meteorological Department has asked to display warning signal number 1 at river ports in eight areas-Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Jessore, Kushtia and Faridpur.

This information was given in the weather forecast for the country's inland river ports issued from 3:30 pm today until 1:00 am tomorrow night.

According to the weather office, temporary gusty or squally winds blowing from the west or northwest at speeds of 45-60 kmph, accompanied by rain or thundershowers, may occur over Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Jessore, Kushtia and Faridpur regions. 

River ports in these areas have been advised to display warning signal number 1.
