DHAKA, June 4, 2026, (BSS) - Four more children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms across the country during the past 24 hours, while the total number of infected patients reached 1,205.

According to a press release issued by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today, the number of suspected measles cases recorded in the last 24 hours was 1,136. Since March 15, the total number of suspected measles cases has reached 75,708.

The release said 69 confirmed measles cases were reported during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases since March 15 to 9,260.

From March 15 to June 4, a total of 61,194 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 57,043 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

One person died from confirmed measles in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths from confirmed measles since March 15 to 91.

Three deaths were reported from suspected measles during the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 514 people have died from suspected measles.

So far, the highest number of suspected measles cases has been recorded in Dhaka Division, where 35,508 people have been affected. Of them, 6,480 cases have been confirmed as measles.
