107 more dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hrs

DHAKA, June 7, 2026 (BSS) – A total of 107 more dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The information was disclosed in a dengue update issued today by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the DGHS.

According to the statement, among the newly hospitalised patients, 30 were admitted in Barishal Division (outside city corporation areas), 13 in Chattogram Division (outside city corporation areas), six in Dhaka Division (outside city corporation areas), three in Dhaka North City Corporation, eight in Dhaka South City Corporation, 45 in Khulna Division (outside city corporation areas), one in Rajshahi Division (outside city corporation areas) and one in Sylhet Division (outside city corporation areas).

During the same period, 93 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. With the latest figure, a total of 3,488 dengue patients have recovered and been released from hospitals so far this year.

The DGHS data showed that 3,711 people have been infected with dengue across the country since the beginning of the year. Of them, 63.3 percent are male and 36.7 percent female.

A total of six dengue-related deaths have been reported so far in 2026.

According to official statistics, Bangladesh recorded 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease in 2025.

In 2024, the country reported 101,214 dengue infections and 575 deaths.
