Drawing competition held marking July Mass Uprising Day 2026

DHAKA, Aug 5, 2026 (BSS) - A drawing competition was held at the conference room of the North Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today, marking July Mass Uprising Day 2026, under the initiative of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat.

The theme of the competition was "July '24 Through Colours and Brushes."
Students from different schools in the capital took part in the competition under two categories. The first group comprised children aged between 5 and 8 years, while the second group included participants aged above 8 years to 12 years, said a press release of parliament secretariat.

Member of Parliament Shawkat Ara Akter and Secretary of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Barrister Md. Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan visited the competition venue.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Shawkat Ara Akter said July represents the nation's spirit and inspiration, adding that the children had beautifully portrayed the memories and significance of July through their paintings.

Secretary Barrister Md Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan said the artworks reflected how children perceive and embrace the spirit of July, noting that such initiatives would help future generations learn about the historic events.

Senior officials of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat were also present at the programme.
