Jaglul Pasha sent to jail for sand-laden trucks in front of Khaleda Zia's residence

DHAKA, Aug 5, 2026 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today sent former joint secretary Syed Jaglul Pasha to jail in a case over allegedly obstructing former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia's participation in a political rally by placing sand-laden trucks in front of her Gulshan residence and using pepper spray.

Police produced Jaglul Pasha before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Dhaka after his arrest. The investigating officer sought a 10-day remand for further interrogation.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin ordered that Jaglul Pasha be sent to jail and fixed next Sunday for the hearing on the remand petition.

SI Moktar Hossain of the General Registration Branch of Gulshan Police Station confirmed the court order to BSS.

Jaglul Pasha was arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) from his residence in the capital's Bashundhara area at around 1:30 am on Tuesday.
