CHATTOGRAM, Aug 5, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs, Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, stated that essential amendments will be made following discussions with all stakeholders regarding constitutional reform.

He made these remarks while addressing reporters after paying homage to the martyrs at the July Memorial located in the New Market Square of the city today, marking the July Uprising Day.

He emphasized that the BNP is a party representing the people. Consequently, the party will make decisions that ensure accountability to the populace. The inaugural meeting of the Constitutional Amendment Committee took place yesterday, led by the Home Minister and attended by the Law Minister.

The State Minister for Land also mentioned that the government is committed to implementing the reforms promised by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The necessary reform proposals will be enacted through constitutional amendments after engaging in discussions with all political and social stakeholders. Highlighting the sacrifices made by students, workers, and the general public to restore democracy in the country, Mir Helal stated that the government is dedicated to achieving the objectives of enhancing the living conditions of marginalized communities, establishing peace and order, and eradicating inequality.
