DHAKA, Aug 9, 2026 (BSS) - The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested the prime accused in a murder case filed with Banani Police Station.

The accused, identified as Md Arif Hossain Molla, 36, was arrested from the Kajla area under Jatrabari Police Station in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

According to CTTC, a team from its Research and Development (R&D) Division conducted a raid in the area around 2:30 pm on August 8 based on confidential information and arrested Arif.

Police said Arif is the prime accused in a murder case filed with Banani Police Station.

He is also facing several drug-related cases and multiple arrest warrants, according to the CTTC.

Legal proceedings against the arrested individual are underway.
