CHATTOGRAM, Aug 11, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin today said the government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken transformative steps to expand technical education alongside general education across the country.

He stressed the importance of expanding technical education to equip students with skills suited to current national and global demands.

He emphasised that skilled manpower is essential for the country's overall development and urged young people to focus on practical, job-oriented education rather than merely pursuing certificates or traditional academic qualifications.

The state minister made the remarks while inaugurating the newly constructed Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin Academic Bhaban at Mir Noabul Haque Memorial High School in Hathazari.

Former minister, mayor and ambassador Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin, the school's founder, attended the event as the chief guest.

Recalling his ties to Hathazari, Nasir Uddin said he had studied at Hathazari High School and travelled long distances to attend classes. He urged parents and the local community to raise children with honesty, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

"Only through honest living can they achieve success and contribute to the welfare of the country," he said, stressing that educated and ethical young people are the true assets of society.

The event was chaired by the school's headmaster Mohammad Selim Uddin Reza.

Among others, school donor member Barrister Israt Nazneen Nasir, Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Abdullah Al Mumin and Executive Engineer of the Education Engineering Department, Chattogram, Tanvir Islam attended the programme.
