DHAKA, Sep 01, 2026 (BSS) - The Department of Social Services (DSS) has extended the deadline for online applications for disability allowance and education stipends under the social safety net programme for the 2026-27 fiscal year.

Applications for the allowance and stipends can now be submitted online until further notice, according to a notification signed by Director of the Social Security Sub-Division of the Department of Social Services Md Mosharraf Hossain on Monday.

As the target number of applications had not been received even after the expiry of the stipulated period, the department decided to keep the application process open until further notice instead of setting a new deadline.

Earlier, the online application period for the disability allowance and education stipends was set from August 16 to August 31 this year.

Interested applicants have to apply through the online platform designated by the Department of Social Services. The online application address is https://dss.bhata.gov.bd/online-application. 

The previous instructions regarding the application process, eligibility and other conditions will remain unchanged.

The Department of Social Services said the main objective of the initiative is to ensure that genuine and eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of the social safety net programme.

The notification asked social services officials at the divisional, district and upazila levels to take necessary measures to receive applications after being informed of the matter.
