Four teams reach final of Primary School Gold Cup Football

DHAKA, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS)- Four teams -- two of girls' and two of boys' -- 
advanced in the national round finals of the Primary School Gold Cup Football 
tournament eliminating their respective rivals in the semifinals held at 
National Bangla High School ground at Mirpur-2 in the capital on Monday.  

In the girls' section first semi-final match, Jorgacha Government Primary 
School of Santhia upazila under Pabna District beat Doharo Government Primary 
School of Shailkupa upazila under Jhenaidah district by 2-1 goals.

While in the second semi-final, Bancharampur Model Government Primary School 
of Bancharampur upazila under Brahmanbaria district defeated Tepriganj 
Government Primary School of Debiganj upazila under Panchagarh district also 
by 2-1 goals.

In the first semi-final of the boys' group, Ichaghari Government Primary 
School of Sunamganj Sadar beat Doara Antabunia Government Primary School of 
Koira upazila under Khulna district by 2-0 gaols.

While in the second semi-final, Koyarbil Government Primary School of 
Kutubdia upazila under Cox's Bazar district defeated Matikata Government 
Primary School of Bhunchapur upazila under Tangail district by 4-2 goals in 
the tie breaker and after the reulation time ended 1-1 draw.

The third place decider will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) while the final will 
be taken place on February 27.

Boys and girls teams from 65,354 government primary schools across the 
country participated in the tournament.
