DHAKA, April 22, 2025 (BSS)- The exciting final match between Abahani Limited Dhaka and Bashundhara Kings of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup football has been postponed due to insufficient light on Tuesday.

The match was tied 1-1 in the stipulated ninety minutes and eventually went into extra time after both the teams failed to break the deadlock at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.

As there was insufficient light after fifteen minutes of extra time, so it was not possible to continue the match and referees postponed the match.

The Bangladesh Football Federation professional league management committee will take the decision regarding the final match at a later stage.

The final however began on time but the game was halted when heavy shower forced to stop the play two minutes after the second half.

The entire field was turned unplayable due to violent storm as water accumulated on the ground.

When the rain stopped, it took nearly 40 to 45 minutes to drain the water and make the field suitable for play. As a result, the game went into extra time and daylight could not be used properly.
