NEW YORK, April 23, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has been fined $50,000 for "directing inappropriate language and making an obscene gesture toward a fan," the NBA announced on Tuesday.

It was the latest infraction for Edwards, who had already been assessed fines totalling $320,000 this season for various offenses, including foul language during media interviews, an obscene gesture on court and failure to leave the court in a timely manner after he was ejected from a game.

The latest incident came late in the third quarter of the Timberwolves' 117-95 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in game one of their Western Conference first-round playoff series on Saturday.

Edwards clapped back at a fan who was heckling teammate Rudy Gobert.

Announcement of the fine came hours before the Lakers hosted game two of the best-of-seven series.
