OAKMONT, United States, June 16, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - American Sam Burns clung to a one-stroke lead over Australia's Adam Scott after seven holes when heavy rain suspended Sunday's final round of the 125th US Open.

Play was stopped at 4:01 p.m. (2001 GMT) due to dangerous weather in the area.

Burns and Scott were each two-over on their round, leaving Burns -- seeking his first major crown -- on two-under par overall and Scott, the 2013 Masters winner, second on one-under.

England's Tyrrell Hatton and Norway's Viktor Hovland shared third on one-over with Mexico's Carlos Ortiz and American J.J. Spaun sharing five on two-over.
