Bangladesh lose to Chinese Taipei in bronze-deciding match

DHAKA, June 18, 2025 (BSS)- It was disappointing day for Bangladesh archery 
as they finished fourth position after losing to Chinese Taipei by 3-5 set in 
the bronze-deciding match in the recurve men's team event of ongoing 2025 
Asia Cup World Ranking tournament stage-2 held in Singapore today 
(Wednesday).

The Bangladesh archery team comprising Abdur Rahman Alif, Ramkrishno Saha and 
Md Rakib Mia reached quarterfinals beating Philippines in the 1/8 round. 

In the quarter-final, Bangladesh played 4-4 tie with Kazakhstan in the first 
round and each archer of both teams shot one arrow to determine the winners. 

Later, Bangladesh moved to the semifinal scoring 27 and Kazakhstan scored 26. 

However, Bangladesh lost to India 1-5 in the semifinal. 

In the compound men's team event, Bangladesh archery team featuring Himu 
Bachar, Newaz Ahmed Rakib and Sohel Rana lost to Bhutan 218-222 in the 1/8 
round.

While in the women's team event, Bangladesh archery team featuring Puspita 
Jaman, Bonna Akter and Kulsum Akter also finished fourth position after 
losing to Kazakhstan 224-230 in the bronze-medal deciding match.

The mixed team event of the tournament will be held tomorrow (Thursday).
