Olympic Day observed in capital, divisional cities thru rallies

DHAKA, June 24, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) today observed the 'Olympic Day 2025', the founding anniversary of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), through ceremonial rallies in the capital and seven other divisional headquarters of the country.

Marking the day, BOA with overall support of the Bangladesh Army organised the ceremonial rally in the city with the theme "Let's Move" to motivate athletes and people from all walks of life to engage in physical exercise and sports activities and at the same time inspire others to engage in sports. 

BOA President and Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman attended the inaugural session of the rally as the chief guest. 
 
The rally started at 06:30am from Bangladesh Shishu Academy and passed through Shikkha Bhaban-Bangladesh Secretariat-Zero Point-GPO and ended at Gate No. 1 of the National Stadium. 

More than 2,000 sports lovers, including national-level athletes, trainers, organizers, officials and employees of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Council, various military and civilian organizations and general sports lovers, participated in the rally.

After the rally, the Bangladesh Army Orchestra team organised a wonderful cultural programme at the National Stadium. 

The Army Chief presented special honours and certificates to the Olympians present at the venue. The participants of the programme termed the event as lively and festive and expressed their gratitude to the BOA and the Bangladesh Army.
