DHAKA, Nov 15, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh has highlighted its growing semiconductor capabilities at a three-day roadshow in Malaysia’s Penang, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, promoting investment, and informing Malaysian government, industry and academic stakeholders about Bangladesh’s emerging position in the global semiconductor value chain.

The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) organised the “BSIA Roadshow 2025” on 11–13 November in Penang, said a press release here today.

Penang State’s Deputy Chief Minister Jagdeep Singh Deo inaugurated the event as chief guest, while Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Malaysia Manzurul Karim Khan Chowdhury attended as special guest.

At the opening session, Dr. Mustafa Hussain, Professor at Purdue University, USA, delivered a presentation on opportunities for collaboration between Bangladesh and Malaysia in the semiconductor sector.

Representatives from six Bangladeshi semiconductor companies — Neural Semiconductor, ULKASEMI Private Limited, iTest Bangladesh Limited, Prime Silicon, Cactus Materials Ltd, and SILICONOVA Limited — detailed their technological capabilities and industry positioning.

As part of the roadshow, a 15-member BSIA delegation led by its president Mohammed Abdul Jabbar visited multiple semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Penang on 12–13 November to exchange expertise and explore collaboration.

The initiative is expected to boost bilateral cooperation, expand investment opportunities and foster technological partnerships between Bangladesh and Malaysia in the fast-growing semiconductor industry.
