CHANDPUR, March 13, 2026 (BSS) - Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon today said there will be no relaxation of educational qualifications in selecting managing committee members of educational institutions under the new policy.

"There is no question of relaxing the educational requirements. The qualifications will first be verified by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), then by the Deputy Commissioner, and finally three names will be sent to the respective board," he told journalists after a prize distribution ceremony in his Kachua constituency this afternoon.

The minister said the verification process will ensure that the selected members are suitably educated, socially responsible and committed to education.

He added that although many educationists have made significant contributions, the inclusion of diploma engineers who have not completed graduation is under discussion.

"We will consult with lawmakers and the Prime Minister before making a decision on how to strengthen the role of managing committees to improve the quality of education," he said.

The function was chaired by Kachua Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmudul Hasan and moderated by academic supervisor Sohel Rana.
