NARSINGDI, March 13, 2026 (BSS) - To share the joy of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr with the underprivileged, the social organization 'Alokito Narsingdi' distributed iftar and Eid gift items among needy families.

The distribution programme was held on Friday afternoon in the Purba Brahmandi area under Narsingdi municipality.

Organizers said 'Alokito Narsingdi' has long been providing food assistance to low-income people and extending various forms of support to underprivileged street children. As part of this ongoing initiative, Eid gift items were distributed among nearly one hundred families ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

Among those present at the programme were former Principal of Narsingdi Government Women's College Professor Kalam Mahmud, Director of Narsingdi Diabetes Hospital Hasnat Bin Rasel, President of Narsingdi Volunteer Organization Mahbubur Rahman Monir, Vice President of Alokito Narsingdi and Assistant Teacher Gostholal Das, and members Tanimul Haque, Nilu Das and Abu Sayeed, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Hasnat Bin Rasel said everyone should take part in humanitarian activities. "Whatever we do should be done with the intention of pleasing Allah," he added while praising the initiative of Alokito Narsingdi.

Professor Kalam Mahmud said the organization organizes such programmes almost every year and consistently tries to stand beside helpless and underprivileged people. "This is undoubtedly a commendable initiative, and I hope the organization will continue its humanitarian activities in the future," he said.

President of the organization Abdullah Al Mamun Rasel said that Alokito Narsingdi distributes Eid items every year. He added that colorful Eid dresses will be distributed among more than one hundred underprivileged street children tomorrow so that the joy of Eid reaches every home.
