43 arrested in special drive in Ctg, 2.5 lakh yaba seized

CHATTOGRAM, Mar 13, 2026 (BSS)- Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) conducted a special drive in various police stations in the city, arresting 43 individuals and recovering 2.5 lakh contraband yaba tablets. 

The CMP control room disclosed this information on Friday. Out of the 43 arrests, 14 were related to drug offenses, 19 were for robbery, one for extortion, and one for gambling.
 
Eight people were arrested for their involvement with a juvenile gang. 

A total of 183,684 yaba pills were seized during the drive from different areas including largest amount of 180,025 pills from tourist zone Patenga.

CMP is conducting regular drive to combat drug trafficking, robbery, and other crimes in the city, DMP sources said.
