Alhaj Sardar Bazlur Rahman Foundation hosts iftar mahfil in Kachua

BAGERHAT, March 13, 2026 (BSS) - An iftar and prayer mahfil was held in Kachua, Bagerhat, marking the holy month of Ramadan under the initiative of the Alhaj Sardar Bazlur Rahman Foundation.

The event took place this afternoon at the Kachua Degree College ground, where hundreds of religious devotees and people from different walks of life gathered to take part in the programme.

State Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change Sheikh Faridul Islam attended the event as the chief guest.

The state minister said the holy month of Ramadan teaches self-restraint, self-purification and humanity. He noted that the month inspires people with the ideals of patience, compassion and sacrifice.

"Ramadan teaches everyone to stand in one row, forgetting the distinctions between rich and poor in society. Such iftar gatherings further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, harmony and mutual cooperation among people," he said.

The state minister also highlighted the importance of private and social organizations participating in social welfare activities. He praised the initiative of the Alhaj Sardar Bazlur Rahman Foundation, saying such efforts play an important role in promoting human values and maintaining social harmony in society.

The programme was hosted by BNP leader Touhidul Islam and chaired by Sardar Zahid, chairman of the Alhaj Sardar Bazlur Rahman Foundation.

Among others present were District BNP leader Barrister Sheikh Mohammad Zakir Hossain, Kachua Upazila Executive Officer Md. Ali Hasan, District BNP Convener Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim, Member Secretary Md. Mozaffar Rahman Alam, District BNP leaders Neyamul Nasir Alap and Fakir Tariqul Islam, along with local dignitaries, political leaders and people from various walks of life.

Before iftar, special prayers were offered seeking prosperity for the country and the nation, peace and welfare for the Muslim Ummah, and well-being for humanity across the world. Following the prayers, iftar was distributed among the hundreds of attendees.
