DHAKA, Mar 14, 2026 (BSS) - LGRD and Cooperatives Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has visited Prime Minister's political adviser and BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed at Evercare Hospital here.
During the visit on Friday night, Fakhrul sought prayers from the people of the country for the speedy recovery of Mirza Abbas, minister’s Assistant Private Secretary (APS) Md.Younus Ali told BSS today.
Mirza Abbas is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital after suddenly falling ill and losing consciousness during iftar on Wednesday evening.
As his condition did not improve, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital late that night.
Doctors said Mirza Abbas has successfully undergone two brain surgeries and is now under intensive observation.
Regarding Mirza Abbas's physical condition, Mirza Fakhrul said, "With everyone's prayers, the two operations of Mirza Abbas have been completed successfully."
"He is now under the close observation of doctors. We ask everyone to pray for his full recovery," he added.
Earlier, there had been a plan to take him to Singapore for advanced treatment. However, when his physical condition deteriorated further, doctors decided to perform surgery in the country.
After 3:00 pm, he was taken to the operation theatre and the first surgery was completed before evening. A second surgery was performed later in the evening as doctors deemed it necessary.
