DHAKA, June 24, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was declared fit to play the second and final Test against Sri Lanka, starting tomorrow (Wednesday) in Colombo.

"He will be available for the second Test," Head Coach Phil Simmons told the reporters in Colombo today. "He is fit and ready to play."

Shanto suffered a blow to his finger during a slip-catching drill yesterday and missed the practice session.

This is the second time in a week Shanto has taken a hit on the finger, having received a pain in the same place ahead of the Galle Test.

He batted through the pain in the Galle Test and scored centuries in both innings as the match ended in a draw.
