DHAKA, June 26, 2025 (BSS)—Liton Das went past his teammate Mushfiqur Rahim as leading wicket-keeper in Tests on Day 2 of the second and final cricket Test against Sri Lanka at Sinhalese Sports Club ground in Colombo today.

Liton started the match, daring level with Mushfiqur's tally of 113 dismissals. However, he eclipsed the veteran Mushfiqur by taking a simple catch behind the stumps to dismiss Dinesh Chandimal in the final session.

The dismissal marked his 114th dismissals overall —99 catches and 15 stumpings.

While Liton reached the milestone in just his 65th innings, Mushfiqur needed 97 innings. Liton replaced Mushfiqur as the wicket-keeper as the team management wanted the veteran, considered as Bangladesh’s No. 1 Test batter, to be free from the burden of wicket-keeping.
