Bangladesh eve football team face strong Bahrain tomorrow

DHAKA June 28, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh women’s national Football team will start their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 Qualifiers campaign when they face upper ranked Bahrain in their crucial group C match scheduled to be held in Thuwunna Stadium at Yangon, Myanmar tomorrow (Sunday).

The match kicks off at 5pm Bangladesh time.

Bangladesh must be looking forward to make a good start against Bahrain because a win there could give the girls in red and green confidence to reach the final round of the tournament.

In the latest FIFA rankings, Bangladesh is ranked 128 making them the second-lowest ranked team in the group. Host Myanmar lead the group with a 55th position, followed by Bahrain at 92nd, while Turkmenistan trails at 141st. Despite the rankings, Bangladesh is looking forward to overcome the odds and secure a spot in the tournament's final round.

The Bangladesh eve football team completed their final training session today (Saturday). The girls were fully focused and determined ahead of their opening fixture, carrying the hopes of the nation into this important continental campaign, according to a message received here from Bangladesh Football Federation.

The team focused on tactical work, set-pieces, and mental readiness. The session lasted for an hour in the morning at Training Field 5.

The girls in red and green will play their remaining group matches against host Myanmar and Turkmenistan on July 2 and July 5 respectively.

Sagorika, Afeida Khandakar (captain), Sheheda Akter Ripa, Mst Munki Akter, Sapna Rani, Kohati Kisku,  Sauravi Akanda Prity, Most Sultana, Swarna Rani Mandal, Mst Joynob Bibi Rita , Halima Akhter Nabiran Khatun Mile Akter, Umehla Marma and Nilufa Yasmin Nila.
